For Educators
Know the past. Enjoy the present. Protect the future.
Have you considered taking your students to explore the natural wonders of Canada's National Parks or walk in the footsteps of the past by visiting our National Historic Sites? Through the My Parks Pass, you can do just that, and more! For free!
Welcome to the My Parks Pass program! Parks Canada, in partnership with Nature Canada and The Historica-Dominion Institute, is thrilled to continue this initiative designed to help students explore and learn at Parks Canada's natural and cultural heritage places. This multi-faceted program includes learning tools, national contests and an access pass for Grade 8/Secondary 2 students.
My Parks Pass grants all Grade 8/Secondary 2 students free access for one full year to any of Parks Canada's 42 National Parks, 167 National Historic Sites, and 4 National Marine Conservation Areas. Additionally, all Grade 8/Secondary 2 classrooms, including split classes, will receive free admission to these parks and sites as part of a classroom trip organized by your school. This is your chance to experience the unforgettable as you join in the centennial celebrations of Parks Canada—the world's first national parks service! With more than 200 sites across the country there is an adventure closer than you think.
A visit to one of the Parks Canada locations directly supports the trend towards experiential, hands-on learning experiences. Please note that special My Parks Pass learning tools are now available for download at myparkspass.ca. These resources are linked to provincial or territorial curricula and learning expectations for your Grade 8/Secondary 2 students in History, Science, and other subject areas. They are designed to assist in planning class visits to the parks, historic sites and marine conservation areas, or in developing a local angle for students to better connect with the subject of study.
We encourage you to take advantage of this unique offer available to you and consider planning a trip for your class to a national park, national historic site or national marine conservation area. We also invite you to share your feedback on the My Parks Pass program. This is a unique opportunity for your students to connect with Canada's rich cultural and natural heritage!
