Manoir Papineau

Manoir Papineau

There's lots to see and do at this site commemorating famous Canadian politician, Louis-Joseph Papineau. Play croquet on the well-groomed lawns, or go exploring with your camera.

Activities

Play Croquet on the Lawns

No 19th century garden party would be complete without a game of croquet. Ladies in long dresses and gentlemen in cool summer suits would propel coloured balls through hoops while taking refreshment on the manor's lawns.

No dresses or suits are required when you try your hand at croquet at Montebello, but you should keep some refreshment nearby. Croquet may look easy, but it's a game of skill and strategy.

There are usually two teams – the cool team and the hot team, depending on which colour balls you hit. While you're working your way through the wickets in the right order, your opponents can use their balls to send yours off course. And you can do the same. It's great family fun for a summer day.
