About My Parks Pass

The My Parks Pass program is a partner program offered in collaboration between Parks Canada, the Canadian Wildlife Federation, Canadian Geographic Education, Historica Canada and Nature Canada. It is a program targeted at grade 8/secondary 2 students to explore and learn about Canada’s rich history and amazing nature by connecting them to Parks Canada’s network of national parks, historic sites and marine conservation areas.

This multi-faceted program includes free entry to Parks Canada places for grade 8/secondary 2 classes and split classes throughout the school year, learning tools, national contests and more.

Classroom Visits

Have you ever considered taking your students to explore the natural wonders of Canada's national parks or walk in the footsteps of the past by visiting our national historic sites? Through the My Parks Pass program, you can do just that, and more! For free! All grade 8/secondary 2 classrooms, including split classes, receive free admission to 44 national parks, 168 national historic sites, and 4 national marine conservation areas as part of a classroom trip organized by your school. A visit to one of the Parks Canada locations directly supports the trend towards experiential, hands-on learning experiences. With more than 200 sites across the country there is an adventure closer than you think!

The My Parks Pass

Each spring, grade 8/secondary 2 teachers are invited to order My Parks Passes for all of the grade 8/secondary 2 students in their school. This year, passes will not be necessary as all Parks Canada locations in 2017 will offer free entry to all visitors to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday!

  • Canada’s Coolest School Trip: One lucky grade 8/ secondary 2 class will win a five-day, all-expenses-paid trip to an amazing Parks Canada place!
