Coteau-du-Lac National Historic Site

Before railroads, there were rivers. See the inspiration for the modern-day St. Lawrence Seaway at the Coteau-du-Lac National Historic Site, located 40 km southwest of Montréal on the shores of the St. Lawrence River.

Visit a Blockhaus and meet challenges!

Explore a military building which will surprise you and assist a multimedia presentation at the Blockhaus – an interactive summary of Coteau-du-Lac strategic place in the history of the country. Several challenges wait for you on the site. Will you know how to load a cannon, how to start a fire with an iron striker, tow a boat or play a Jew's harp? Will you be the first to find the treasure with a GPS unit? Will you be able to explore your way through the site photographing items in a race against the clock!
